Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how Rate my Style is operated by Viraj Chavan ("we", "us", "our") and how we collect, use, store, share, retain, and delete information when you use the Rate my Style mobile app and this website.

1. Who We Are

2. Information We Collect, How We Collect It, and Why

We collect the following categories of data:

  • Account and profile data. We collect your name, email address, authentication identifiers, account type, and profile photo if you create an account, sign in with Google, or otherwise provide that information. We use this data to create and manage your account, authenticate you, personalize your profile, and support sign-in and recovery flows.
  • Anonymous account data. If you use the app without registering, we may create an anonymous account identifier automatically. We use this to provide trial access, save limited account state, and let you continue using the service before full registration.
  • Outfit photos and uploaded content. We collect the outfit photos you upload and any optional text you submit, such as context, occasion, persona, or similar styling inputs. We use this data to generate outfit ratings, styling feedback, re-analysis, and history inside the app.
  • Follow-up conversation data. We collect messages you send in follow-up chats and the AI responses generated for those chats. We use this data to provide conversational styling support, keep your conversation history, and improve continuity within the product.
  • Analysis result data. We store AI-generated ratings, summaries, strengths, suggested improvements, style tags, detailed feedback, and related result metadata so you can view past analyses and associated details.
  • Usage and analytics data. We automatically collect app events, feature usage, device and platform details, and similar product analytics information. We use this data to understand feature adoption, measure performance, detect abuse, troubleshoot issues, and improve the app.
  • Error diagnostics and support data. We automatically collect crash logs, error reports, debugging information, and related technical diagnostics. Where enabled by the monitoring tool, this may include device information and other context needed to investigate failures. We use this data to maintain reliability, security, and service quality.
  • AI usage records. We collect operational records about AI requests, such as provider, model, token usage, credits deducted, request type, success or failure status, and error details. We use this data for billing logic, abuse prevention, service monitoring, and aggregate analytics.
  • Subscription and purchase data. If you purchase or restore a subscription, we collect subscription status, product identifiers, expiration and renewal status, RevenueCat app user identifiers, and subscription event metadata. We use this data to manage entitlements, restore purchases, provide customer support, and prevent fraud or billing errors.
  • Website data. If you visit our website, we may receive standard technical data such as IP address, browser type, referral information, and basic request logs from our hosting or infrastructure providers. We use this data to operate and secure the website.

3. Sources of Data

We collect data in the following ways:

  • Directly from you when you register, sign in, upload photos, submit prompts or messages, contact us, or manage your account.
  • Automatically from your device and app usage through analytics, diagnostics, authentication, and infrastructure tools.
  • From third-party sign-in or billing providers when you choose to use Google Sign-In or purchase, restore, or manage subscriptions.
  • From our AI and backend service providers when they return generated responses, usage metadata, diagnostic information, or subscription event data.

4. How We Share Data and Third-Party Service Providers

We share data only as needed to operate the service, process your requests, secure the app, or comply with law.

  • Supabase processes account, database, storage, and backend function data for authentication, storage, and app infrastructure.
  • Google Gemini API receives uploaded outfit images and related text inputs that are necessary to generate outfit analysis and follow-up responses.
  • Amplitude receives product analytics and event data to help us understand app usage and improve the service.
  • Sentry receives crash, error, replay, and diagnostics data to help us detect, investigate, and fix technical issues.
  • RevenueCat receives subscription and purchase-related data to manage entitlements, purchase restoration, and subscription status.
  • Google Sign-In may provide profile and authentication information if you choose to sign in with Google.

Any third party that processes user data on our behalf must provide the same or equal protection of user data as stated in this Privacy Policy, including appropriate confidentiality, security, and data protection obligations.

We may also disclose information if required by law, to enforce our terms, or to protect rights, safety, and security.

5. Data Storage and International Transfers

Your information may be stored and processed in countries other than your country of residence, including the United States. By using Rate my Style, you understand that your data may be transferred to, stored in, and processed in jurisdictions with different data protection laws than your home jurisdiction.

6. Data Retention and Deletion

We retain different categories of data for different periods depending on why we need them:

  • Account, profile, outfit, and conversation data is retained until you delete it, delete your account, or we no longer need it to provide the service, subject to legal or operational requirements.
  • Diagnostics, logs, and analytics data may be retained for as long as reasonably necessary for security, fraud prevention, debugging, business records, and product improvement.
  • Subscription and transaction-related records may be retained as needed for accounting, dispute resolution, tax, fraud prevention, and compliance purposes.
  • AI usage records may be retained after account deletion in de-identified or disassociated form for aggregate analytics, fraud prevention, billing integrity, and service operations. In our current implementation, AI usage records are unlinked from the deleted user account rather than stored as active user-linked records.

You can request deletion by using the in-app account deletion controls or by contacting us at virajc@live.com. When you delete your account, we delete or de-associate the personal data associated with that account, including uploaded outfits and related records, except where we must retain specific data for legal, security, fraud-prevention, accounting, dispute-resolution, or operational reasons.

If you contact us by email to request deletion, we will use reasonable efforts to process the request within a reasonable time, subject to verification and any legal restrictions.

7. Revoking Consent and Your Choices

  • You can stop using the app at any time.
  • You can delete your account using the in-app controls or request deletion by email.
  • You can revoke consent for optional data you provide by no longer submitting that data and by requesting deletion of data previously submitted.
  • You can revoke consent to our continued processing of your account-linked data by requesting account deletion.
  • You can stop using Google Sign-In by disconnecting it through your Google account settings, where applicable.
  • You can manage or cancel subscriptions through the applicable app store or subscription management interface.
  • If you want us to review, correct, or delete personal data that you cannot manage in the app, contact us at virajc@live.com.

8. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect personal data. However, no method of storage, transmission, or security control is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Children

Rate my Style is not intended for children under 13 years of age. If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information, contact us and we will take appropriate steps.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make changes, we will post the updated version on this page and revise the "Last Updated" date above.
